Each Royal Purple oil filter features thicker shell material for extra strength and extra security against puncture from road debris. Metal end caps provide each oil filter with a positive seal for filter element assembly. The center tube is designed to prevent filter element collapse.
A 100% screen-backed synthetic media provides superior filtration while keeping flow restriction low. The by-pass valve is engineered to ensure oil flow in situations of excessive filter element flow restriction. A heavy-gauge steel backplate provides each filter with higher burst strength. The gasket made of premium nitrile rubber with special lubricity compound reduces torque during installation and removal.
Finally, the silicone anti-drain back valve prevents dry starts by eliminating oil drain-back during shutdown. The anti-drain back valve is made of silicone, which outperforms and outlasts standard nitrile rubber in both extreme cold and hot oil temperatures.

Great filter, been using this filter for 10 years. It might not be necessary to change but change it every 5,000 miles with an oil change. Bit expensive compared to other filters, but the build and material used are excellent.

I received this in the mail not to long ago and I recently changed the oil in my car. I don't really know how to review this product too much. I can say that it fits and I haven't had any trouble with my oil or oil filter since I changed them, so I can only assume it's doing its job and properly filtering out the particulates. I have no way to actually test that though. Knowing it's from a reputable brand like Royal Purple though does help to instill that confidence, however. Therefore, with not much to go on except knowing that it fits and hasn't caused me any trouble as of yet, I give this a five star rating.

I've used this brand before and never had any issues. While I just put this filter on and had no issues with it so far, I just put it on… kinda hard to leave a fair review without time to actually see how it wear and tears… based on prior experience with the brand I'm sure it'll be fine, but again too early to say 100% on this specific filter.

I received Royal Purple Extended Life Engine Oil Filter very late. I didn't think I would get it, but I am glad I have it after testing it. I can say it works great so far. I spun on. no leaks. It was so clean in fact I had to look closely at the dipstick to find the oil line. Great quality. Thank you!

I am very impressed with the Royal Purples overall construction.
